Each class has an allocated borrowing time during the week, however students may borrow at lunch time. All books are due back after one week, however students may re-new a book for a further week by bringing the book in and requesting a renewal. Students are responsible for returning books on time and in good condition. Reminders for damaged and overdue books will be sent home periodically. Students and/or parents will be asked to reimburse the school for lost or damaged books.
Our school Library is open everyday including during lunch on Monday-Thursday. All students are welcome to visit the Library during these times to borrow books, read, draw, play games and utilise our computers when needed.
Book Week Celebration
Book Week celebrations are held in Term 3. A variety of activities take place during our Book Week celebrations to foster a love of reading across of whole school community. These include:
- Storytelling market
- Costume Day
- Book Fair
- Author and/or illustrator visit
Book Fair operates once a year usually in conjunction with our Education Week/Book Week activities. Products arrive at the school and classes are invited to preview the books and then parents may purchase books during set times before and after school. Credit card facilities are available.
Book Fair is offered as a no-obligation service to students and their families and is offered because our school benefits from all purchases by earning free books. All free books are added to our Library resources.
Library Monitors are year 6 students who express an interest in helping within our school Library.
